Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush.

I recently purchased a new blusher. I needed something that was great for summer, long lasting and also something that gives me a little pop of colour. Whilst I was looking through various blog reviews about Chanel blushers, I took the plunge and puchased Joues Contraste Powder Blush.

The Colours -

  • Frivole
  • Orchid Rose
  • Pink Explosion
  • Plum Attraction
  • Reflex
  • Rose Initiale
  • Rose Petal

My Purchase -

Ta-dah! I'm a sucker for packaging and I have to say, Chanel has beautiful packaging!
It's a pricey blush but when you take this out of your bag everyday to touch up your makeup, you realise that it is so worth the money...... or not. I'm just trying to justify myself here! (haha!)

The colour I chose is called 'Reflex'

It's a subtle coral colour with a hint of shimmer. If you're like me and you don't like glitter in blusher, you'll love this one! It makes your skin look like it's glowing instead of looking like you've been playing in a glitter bath for hours... umm, I honestly don't know what a glitter bath is and I'm pretty sure I made that up, but it sounds fun!

As you can see, the Chanel blush comes with a little brush that you could use for applying it to the apples of your cheeks. I emphazise on the word could because, well let's be honest, nobody ever really needs these little brushes, unless you're stuck on a desert Island somewhere. Just sayin'.

Although I feel like this blush will suit every complextion, I decided to take a swatch for you Bloggerettes and show you what it would look like on olive skin tone.

I had to put quite a lot on my had for it to show up on camera, as it is a subtle coral colour, but I love how it looks on my cheeks!

The pros of this blush has to be the excellent packaging and the staying power that it has. If you're like me with combonation/oily skin, you often find that blushers usually fade throughout the day. I wore Reflex yesterday and it did last all day.

The cons of this blush is probably the price. It retails for £31.00. It's obviously not a blush that I would purchase each time I run out of it but I once I have, I certainly will re-puchase in the far, far future.

How do you like the Chanel Blushes?  Do you think they're a waste on money or a good investment?

Everyday Makeup.

My Everyday Makeup Bag

I have recently been writing about a lot on Fashion Trends and the latest looks, but haven't really posted a lot concerning  Makeup. I decided today's the day.

The best way to start is by showing you all what Makeup I use on a day to day basis. I love seeing these videos on YouTube and also reading them on Blog sites, so I guess now it is my turn!

This is my everyday makeup bag that I carry on a day to day basis. It is small but don't let that fool you! It can fit quite an extraordinary amount of items inside.
I purchased the bag from the beautiful Victoria's Secret store in New Bond Street, London when it first opened last year.

The Contents of My Bag.

Purchased from www.boots.com - £12.99

This stippling foundation brush is by far my favourite brush. I had seen a lot of positive reviews on the brush, decided to take the plunge and purchase it. It gives a truly amazing, great coverage finish to liquid foundation leaving your skin looking natural.

www.nyxcosmetics.co.uk £11.00

I purchased this Photo-Loving Primer whilst at the Excel Beauty show in London. It was my first time trying NYX products. I love this Primer, it leaves my skin feeling like silk and I find is perfect for all skin types. I have very sensitive skin and break out using most things, but this primer hasn't caused me any problems.

Illamasqua foundation £27
Maybeline Fit Me Foundation £7.00

I often mix the Illamasqua Skin Base foundation (shade 7.5) with Maybeline's Fit me foundation in the shade 210 to get an even colour for my skin.
I have been using the Skin Base foundation for a year now. I love it. The foundation provides excellent coverage which lasts all day. The only problem that I have noticed with this foundation, is that it tends to break me out a little.

Maybeline's Fit Me foundation also provides good coverage considering it is not a premium brand foundation. It looks natural and feels comfortable to wear, the only problem I find with this foundation is that it does not last all day and makes my skin look really oily, so I often find myself blending the foundation out using my stippling brush to stop my skin looking too shiny.

Royal Brushes - Bronzing Brush

I picked up this brush from the Excel Beauty show in London last year. It is an excellent quality brush. I use it as a buffing brush as the hairs are soft and do not irritate my skin. Once I have applied my foundation using my stippling brush, I buff the foundation into the skin using this brush and it creates a flawless, natural look.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Collection.
£27

I have nothing bad to say about this face highlighter pen. It gives my skin a beautiful radiant look, covers up my dark circles and lasts throughout the day. It also looks great on photos!
The pen design I have is limited edition. I am not sure if you can still purchase the ridged design, but you certainly can purchase the highlighting pen.

Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Bronzer.
On Sale: £7

I purchased this limited edition Bronzer from Bentall's. I feel the colour is a little too dark for me, so I often dust a little on my cheeks and use it as a light blusher. The packaging is stunning and the quality of the bronzer is great. I find that it lasts all day.

All About Face - Tesco

I was in dire need of a new mascara as I had run out of my collection 2000 mascara. I came across Tesco's own brand of mascara and liked it for a little while.
It is not my favourite. I find it leaves my eyelashes looking clumpy. I think it is time to purchase a new mascara asap!

M.A.C ''Girl About Town''
Elizabeth Arden High Shine ''Pink''

Girl About Town is a lipstick I have owned for a while. As you can see in the photo, I'm running out of it!
It's a vibrant colour, does not dry my lips out and is great for evenings as the colour is very pigmented. I often find myself wearing this in the daytime, if I am wearing a plain outfit.

Elizabeth Arden's High Shine Lipgloss is one that I use on a day to day basis. It is such a pretty colour and is extremely moisturising on the lips.

My everyday makeup look.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I carry in my day to day makeup bag. If you have any questions regarding the products that I use, feel free to comment below!

Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss.

Shade: 58 'EMOI'

I'm wearing Chanel's Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss in the colour 'EMOI'.

Hey girlies! So today I'm going to review a fairly new product that I have purchased. I am completely obsessed with lip glosses, and if you haven't guessed by the title, it's by one of my favourite designers, Chanel.
Chanel's make-up products are well known for their excellent packaging and amazing quality of make-up. Chanel make-up is a little pricey, but it goes such a long way and lasts a great amount of time.
As I'm reviewing their lip gloss today, I shall get straight to the review!
Price: £25
Sold at the following stores:
  • Some Boots stores
  • Chanel Boutique
  • House Of Fraser

Chanel's beautiful packaging.

What Chanel say about this lip gloss:

''Pure brilliance, pure shine intense colour, long wear lip gloss''.

How I feel about this product:

As I stated to you above, I've had this lip gloss for a little while now, but long enough to review it for you. The packaging is wonderfully elegant. The gloss is cased in a shiny, black plastic topped with the golden Chanel logo on the lid.
Once you open the lip gloss, you immediately smell a beautiful fragrance from the gloss. The consistency of this gloss is slightly heavy on the lips, but with the correct lip brush, you will be able to apply the correct amout that suits you. I feel that this dark red colour is great for every skin tone. Chanel state that this gloss provides you with ''intense colour and pure shine'' which lasts a long time and I completely agree with what they say. This gloss lasts for around an hour and provides the lips with an amazing shine (as you can see in the photo of myself wearing it).

So what are the pros and cons of this gloss?

Pros:

  • Beautiful packaging.
  • Intense, rich colour
  • Adds an amazing shine to your lips
  • Lasts a long time on your lips

Cons

  •  A little pricey
  • The container is made out of a solid, black plastic, therefore you cannot see how much of the product is left.
I hope you have enjoyed reading my review. If you have any questions regarding this product, or any of the other products I have reviewed, comment below!

Have a lovely day.

Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation.

What Estee Lauder say about this foundation:

PRODUCT DETAILS

Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup.
''15-hour staying power. Flawless all day''.

''This worry-free, long-wearing foundation makeup stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity, nonstop activity''.

''Won't change colour, smudge or come off on clothes.''

''Feels lightweight and comfortable''.

''Now the flawless look you see in the morning is the look you keep all day''.

How I feel about this foundation:

If you are one of those girls (like me!) who is drawn in by amazing packaging, then I am certain you are going to love this product. Estee Lauder never fail to amaze me with their classy packaging on all their products.

The bottle is made out of a frosted glass, with an elegant golden coloured lid to top it all off! Unfortunately, the only downside I have to say concerning the bottle, is that I wish that it came with a foundation pump. I find that a lot of the product is wasted due to this reason.
The foundation itself, is truly amazing once you have found the correct shade to match your skin tone! I can hardly say anything bad about this foundation. If you have never tried this foundation before, I do suggest asking for a couple of samples before puchasing.

When it comes down to the coverage, I feel that it provides impeccable coverage which lasts all day. So, if you are looking for a foundation that covers everything, this is certainly the one for you. However, if you are looking for a lightweight foundation with great coverage, I wouldn't pick this foundation. After sampling this foundation for a good few weeks, I found it's really heavy on the skin.
*This foundation retails for £27.50*

Pros
  • Impeccable coverage
  • Lasts all day
  • Controls Oil
  • Comes in a great variety of shades to match your skintone

Cons
  • Feels a little heavy on the skin (my personal opinion)
  • I find that this foundation is not really suitable for skin that is prone to break outs.
  • Does not include a pump.
  • For the price, the bottle could be a little bigger.

I hope you enjoyed reading my review of Estee Lauder's double wear foundation. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to comment and let me know!

Chanel - Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eye Shadow Review.

Colour - Black Star.

Hey Make-Up lovers!
This is one of my high end purchases.  (£22.00). It's a great product which I've had  for a while now. If you are looking for a 'night time' eye make-up look I would definitely recommend this product. If you were thinking of purchasing 'Black Star' and using it as a daytime look, it would work also, but I would recommend applying it with the applicator it comes with, as I find it's easier to see how much of the product you are applying. I have also tried blending Chanel's Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eye shadow - Twilight, and I would definitely say that both the colours make an excellent night time, party look.

Pros
  • When applying this eye shadow, I find that you will not need to use a primer. (Of course, this is completely optional).
  • The packaging is Elegant. It comes with a soft pouch and it looks great if you were to use it as an everyday compact mirror.
Cons
  •  It's a little bit pricey for the size of the Eye shadow, but when used correctly, it goes a long way. I've had this product for a little over a year, and I still haven't needed to repurchase it.
  • The Eyes shadow is a lot smaller than the Chanel container that it's placed in.
Overall, I don't have very many negative things to say about this product, other than the price. It is a good investment, but if you can't afford to buy high end items, I would recommend looking for dupes!

Colours It Comes In:
  • Amethyst
  • Beige
  • Black Star
  • Ebony
  • Ivory
  • Magic Night
  • Platine
  • Safari
  • Taupe Grise
  • Trace
  • Vert Khaki
